Yoshitomo Nara (japonais, né le 5 décembre 1959 à Hirosaki) est un artiste contemporain connu pour ses peintures néo-pop représentant des motifs innocents et un style joyeux associé au monde des livres et des bandes dessinées pour enfants. Les sujets les plus fréquents de Nara sont des enfants et des animaux caricaturés aux yeux écarquillés.

Souvent, des fragments de textes en allemand, japonais ou anglais apparaissent dans ses compositions. Nara est un sculpteur et un dessinateur prolifique. Des expositions solo de son travail ont lieu, entre autres, à la galerie Blum & Poe de Santa Monica, au musée d’art contemporain de Chicago, à la galerie Pace Prints de New York, à l’Asia Society Museum de New York. Nara vit et travaille actuellement au Japon et en Allemagne et est représenté par la galerie Marianne Boesky à New York et par la galerie Blum & Poe à Los Angeles.
