DESCRIPTION:

This work presents Jenny Saville and her sister, closely positioned as if conjoined twins. Saville's first print, it is based on the photograph from which the artist's painting Hyphen (1999) was derived. A new medium for the artist, this is however an image that is instantly recognisable as Saville's work. As with her paintings the print is constructed in layers, painterly fleshtones applied expressively under a photo-based image.
