This remarkable work was reproduced in color on the cover of: Brigitte Baer, Picasso the Printmaker: Graphics from the Marina Picasso Collection, and Dallas Museum of Art, 1983. This work was a step-by-step transformation from a realist portrait of a young boy to that of a multi-layer image of a faun.

Baer indicates an edition of fifty plus about twenty artist’s proofs.
