Artist’s collaboration on view focuses on sin and iniquity

Vice is a subject rarely traversed by the contemporary art world, and yet it is one that is so central to much of what artists create. It has been said that the motivation behind all art can be reduced to three topics: sex, religion and death. It is the first of these three that provided the inspiration for the collaborative efforts of neon artist Chris Bracey and photograher David LaChapelle.

Devised as a small exhibit of three works at Guy Hepner West Hollywood, the installation takes a collaborative neon work devised by the two artists in 2004, "Strippers", which hangs alongside two of LaChapelle's more traditional work in the photographic medium. The female form in provocative poses is the common link between the works. "Strippers is an accessible, aesthetically rewarding work that shows how two artists in tandem can enhance each others work" says gallery director Nikki Sapp.

On the opposing wall, LaChapelle's "Over Easy" features a nude Pamela Anderson emerging from a large ostrich egg, her body tastefully posed to leave the collector with an implied vision. Gallery founder Guy Hepner is particularly fond on this mid career work from Lachapelle, stating "the fertility reference of the egg, coupled with the playful titling of the image encapsulates so much off what is strong about the pop period work of LaChapelle".

Please contact the gallery for further information and availability. Appointments are available 7 days a week for private viewing and discussing your collecting needs.
