Fermin Aguayo 'Présence habitée - Présence réfléchie'

Du 11 mai au 13 juillet 2012, la galerie est heureuse de proposer une exposition rétrospective
de l’artiste espagnol Fermin AGUAYO intitulée Présence habitée - Présence
réfléchie qui se déroulera conjointement dans les deux espaces de la galerie rue de Seine
et rue de Saintonge dans le Marais.
Cette exposition se propose de retracer l’itinéraire d’un immense peintre, mort prématurément,
en 1977, à l’âge de 51 ans, que la galerie n’a eu cesse de promouvoir depuis les
années 50. Faisant suite à la rétrospective qui lui a été consacrée au Centro de Arte Reina
Sofia à Madrid il y a quelques années, cette exposition est la première en France à rassembler
un nombre aussi important de peintures de l’artiste dont certaines seront présentées
pour la première fois au public. Les oeuvres exposées dans l’espace historique de la rue
de Seine permettront d’aborder les différentes phases de la recherche picturale de l’artiste
; cette recherche est développée en profondeur dans l’exposition qui se poursuit rue de
Saintonge, à travers les différentes thématiques de l’oeuvre du peintre, avec un choix de
peintures incontournables et quelques rares oeuvres sur papier - depuis les premières oeuvres
peintes, au milieu des années 40, jusqu’aux dernières toiles peintes par Aguayo en
1975, deux années avant sa disparition.

Fermin Aguayo 'Inhabited Presence, Reflected Presence'

From 11th May to 13th July 2012 the gallery is pleased to present a retrospective exhibition
of the Spanish painter Fermin Aguayo entitled Inhabited Presence, Reflected
Presence at both the right bank and left bank spaces of the Gallery.
This exhibition retraces the itinerary of a great painter who died prematurely in 1977 at
the age of 51, and whom the gallery has promoted ever since the 1950s. Following in the
footsteps of a retrospective dedicated to him a few years ago by the Centro de Arte Reina
Sofia in Madrid, it is the first exhibition in France to bring together such a large number of
his major works, some of them for the first time. The works exhibited in the historical space
of the gallery situated rue de Seine, will provide the public with an overview of the different
phases and themes of the artist’s lifework, which are developed fully in the continuing exhibition
rue de Saintonge, from his earliest paintings of the mid 1940s to the last paintings
of 1975, two years before his death. Included in the exhibition are some rare works on
paper unseen publicly before.
