Fomin.
Russian family of architects and teachers. (1) Ivan Fomin was one of the leading exponents of classicism in 20th-century Russian architecture. His career spanned the revolution of 1917 but was at its most influential when his brand of classicism was adopted by the Soviet state, first as proletarian classicism and later as Socialist Realism. His son (2) Igor Fomin was a prolific executor of the approved classicist style, mainly in Leningrad (now St Petersburg). The following members have entries:
