Puglieschi, Antonio

(b Florence, 1660; d Florence, 1732). Italian painter. His work in the Baroque style was influenced by that of Cortona, mediated through Puglieschi’s masters Pietro Dandini and Ciro Ferri. Puglieschi copied some works by Dandini in 1695 and 1697, including a Madonna and an Adoration of the Magi, which were then sent to Kraków. According to Francesco Maria Niccolò Gabburri’s Vite dei pittori (Florence, Bib. N. Cent., MS. E.B. 9.5), having studied with Dandini in Florence, Puglieschi then worked under Ferri in Rome for four years.
